We moved here from Ohio in 2012. I was a bit skeptical at first, as this small town was a big change from Columbus, Ohio. After 8 years now, we have 2 children that had successful years in middle school and both have graduated from the local high school. The small town offered up quaint shops and restaurants, beautiful tree filled established neighborhoods, a great community of business, schools and friends. We are happy with our move from the big city to this small suburb of Rockford - we couldn't have asked for more.
It's a very quaint town. The crime rates are very low, and it is only a twelve minute drive from the nearest shopping strip. Everyone is very friendly, and neighbor help neighbor type town. The police are friendly and understanding, and the citizens are local and are '815' proud.
Roscoe is a very family friendly community. Great place if you're looking to settle down with your children and/or have children thanks to its outstanding school system. K-12 your children receive top level education building them up for any challenges life might throw at them. On topo of having a great school system another attribute that makes Roscoe a family friendly community is the local festivals that are thrown around the year to entertain and bring friends and families together in the community.
