I have lived in the town for 17 years and been in the school district from kindergarten through high school graduation. It's a very small community, the people are incredible and the teachers are dedicated. It's right on the river, and is very beautiful. There are mostly small businesses, which is great for the town but also means you have to drive 10-15 minutes to go to large stores.

moved to RR in 1970 after Vietnam lived up footscreek rd, worked @ Jo gen. Hosp. In GP. Have fond memories of homestead lounge & Iron Door Tavern (aka) red rooster Inn. Drifted the rogue & fly fished for steelhead for many great years, until offered a job in Hawaii I could not refuse! Often wish I could return to that easy living slow paced lifestyle.

By 7pm, most people are in their own home. If not, they are at the bar, having a good time. The best part is the Rooster Crow Weekend. It is two days full of noise and laughter. People bring their roosters and rate their crowing. People will crow and try to be the loudest. For me, the best part is that in the city of Rogue River, no live poultry is allowed. Therefore, all of the roosters that take over our town for two days are from the surrounding area.
All silliness aside, Rogue River is a great place to live. People are friendly and it is always nice to just walk around and look at the gorgeous river that flows through the town, or look up and see the tree covered mountains that make our little valley so comfortable to live in.
