Rocky Mount is a beautiful albeit average town. It has grown over the years, but is still small compared to other areas, such as Roanoke. It is not very diverse and there are few activities to do; however, because of its location, the cost of living is decent. The culture is reminiscent of a traditionally southern town.

Being a small rural town in Southwest Virginia, demographics are not far from being strictly white, conservative neighborhood. It is everything you could expect from a rural town but nothing more.
I love the sense community I get here. It is so easy to make good friends here, everybody is friendly and true. I love how beautiful the countryside is, the sunsets are absolutely beautiful and the stars really stand out at night. The only thing I would change is how they maintain neighborhoods and roads where there is low income.
