We have loved living here! Family friendly and lots to do. Great local and small businesses. Only complaint is that it is growing a bit too fast and it is losing it's sleepy suburb feeling which is a shame but on the other side, the economic growth and opportunities are great.
I’m a current high schooler living in Rockwall and let me just say I hate it here.
Firstly, If you’re going to attend RHS good luck. Half the teachers shouldn’t even be called teachers, most people are rude, and if you aren’t upper class you’re basically looked down upon. Beware of spoiled brats and people who think vaping is the coolest thing in the world.
Rockwall is the dictionary definition of a suburb. Most stores and restaurants are chains, cookie cutter homes and an overwhelming amount of rich white people. Now, if that’s what you like, then this is the place for you! However if you’re someone like me who wants a little bit of uniqueness and “real world experience”, it’s not fun.
If you’re a young white family wanting to move to a Dallas suburb, then this is the place for you, as this is as suburban as it gets.

I love Rockwall! It is a small town feel with great schools and a safe place to raise a family. There is a gorgeous lake nearby with a lot of casual dining places on the water. It is a healthy city with plenty of gyms and ways to exercise. All of the city parks connect with trails. We have a hike and bike trail and a popular running trail. Rockwall has a runner's club and if water exercise is your style, we have water yoga and canoeing classes. There is plenty of farm fresh restaurants and a weekly Saturday morning farmer's market. There are plenty of churches and a large following for teens/youth worship. This is a safe gathering for teens to meet once per week and socialize and best of all, free.
