I moved to Rockford about 3 years ago. It has been a good experience. There are lots of events during the summer. My neighborhood is very quiet and there are plenty of opportunities for community engagement and participation. The community is very welcoming and there is a wide variety of activities that are low or no cost. There are also many social service agencies in the area. If help is needed there are so many programs that are readily available to assist both individuals and families. The library system in Rockford is very technology forward and offer a wide variety of print and electronic resources. I have not experienced many negative aspects of the town. I have noticed that Police and Emergency services are slow to respond. That is not necessarily a blemish on the town's reputation, but if you do experience an emergency, you may find the wait time for help is a little unsettling. Ultimately, I have found this town to be a great place to call home for both me and my family.
I like about Rockford is everything is commutable excellent university and colleges for study. Diverse community with good neighbors and community.
Rockford is an excellent place for someone who wants to get out and get involved in the community. There's a lot of creative opportunities, plenty of places to explore—no matter what age you are—and a lot of local small businesses that I love.
im in high school in Rockford an i like the feel Rockford has ween i vist other towns i cant find something similar to Rockford
Great city with vibrant culture and some good people. I have lived in Rockford nearly my entire life and have not hated it.
Rockford is a great place to live and work. I was born and raised in Rockford. It's the perfect size; it has a small-town feel without being too small. There are plenty of fun things to do: bowling, outdoor sports, amazing dining options, and a cute downtown!
Location, cost of living, job opportunities. Close to chicago and northwest Illinois. Real estate prices are very reasonable.
My experience with Rockford has been interesting to say the least. I grown up here and have watched this city and community grow and develop in ways I would have never imagined. We have some of the best developers creating amazing and creative lofts in the downtown area, there are plenty of great local restaurants and boutiques, and a thriving local music and art scene. Our community truly comes together to combat tough issues, and although it may not be perfect, it is improving. There is a great sense of inclusion in Rockford several resources for those that may be falling on hard times. Rockford has a lot of history, and I am proud to call it home.
What I love about Rockford is the home feeling I get as I enter the city. Rockford has a small amount of everything. The city isn't too fast or too slow and the food is great. Id love for Rockford to get a stronger handle on the violence within the city and create more youthful programs for the children to stay out of trouble.
Rockford is a cultural and diverse hub if ever there was one. Loaded with entertainment, there is never a dull moment.
A big city to live. So much to do. Lots of stores that close by to go to. Lots of food places that are very good. Nice place to live and work. Three hospitals in Rockford.
The thing I love about Rockford is the people! The culture is different from a lot of places and the food is always good because it's so easy to find Italian cuisine. The schools are somewhat monumental and the night life can get crazy but Rockford is Rockford and like they say there is no place like it!
I enjoy living in Rockford. Coming from the suburbs I feel as though there are more ways people can make differences.
Rockford is a place where you can have good memories. There are events like "Friday Night Flix" where families can go and watch free movies in the park, "BMO Harris Bank Center" where hockey games get played or concerts like Disney on Ice, as well as the shopping areas for all ages in Rockford Illinois. There are amazing hospitals in Rockford and doctors and nurses that really care about you. That is one of the reasons why I plan on studying medicine because of the people that have been around me my whole life. The Music In The Park always make me happy getting to listen to music that may not be on the radio. I wish there were more recreation spots for families to be able to take a load off and go rock climbing or more events that happen downtown everyday instead of one day events. Over all Rockford Illinois is a place I call home because of the positive vibes that Rockford has to offer
I enjoy the fact that there is everything here that I would need without going far away. Always had a very good time here.
I Moved to Rockford Recently, and all i have to say is good things about the city. I have lived in Chicago all my life, where everything is fast paced and busy. Yes, people are nice but nothing like Rockford. Rockford is full of great people. Getting to know the area is pretty easy.
I have really come to love living in Rockford, Illinois as it a place of great people and work ethic. When I first moved to Rockford, I was a bit stressed because I didn't really know anyone in my area. This feeling was quickly removed as I found that my fellow neighbors were just waiting to welcome me and my family to the city. It also says something of how much of a family atmosphere exists here in Rockford, as each and every person looks out for the other. Lastly, the working environment is great as most people are not shy about working hard to get the job done.
