We moved to Rockford from Boston and while the town is quaint and cute, there is such a lack of diversity here. If you are looking for a small, everyone knows everyone, extremely conservative town, Rockford is the place for you! We are heading back East to give our children a well rounded, diverse life :)
I have lived in Rockford all my life and have always loved it. The schools are great for athletics and academics. Downtown Rockford is a fun outing with the family, they have dining, shopping, the dam, and sometimes music.
The best part about Rockford is that it's a smaller community. Rockford has a small shopping outlet, but it fits in perfectly with the community. You can have a great living experience within a neighborhood, town area, or even back in the woods. The area contains lots of wildlife and has a great urban to rural area mix. If you want a taste of both city life and a rural community, Rockford is the place.
I enjoy living in Rockford Michigan. The school system is good, the community is great, and there are so many things to do around Rockford.
I love living in Rockford, it's a quiet little community that's very friendly. The schools are phenomenal, it's close to Grand Rapids but far enough away that it's not loud and there is plenty of hiking.
The Rockford schools are great, although very large and not very diverse. It would be great to see more diversity in Rockford as well as more affordability overall.
I've lived in Rockford for past 17 years and have struggled to "afford" the standard of living, high property taxes and the school system has a division of the "haves" and "have nots" as well as very little ethnic diversity. They overall impression of those living outside of Rockford is that those living in the community of Rockford believe they are above and better than others.
Rockford is a beautiful suburb of Grand Rapids conveniently located just a short drive away from downtown. Rockford also has a great school system and many restaurant options.
It is a very nice town full of things to do. It is family friendly and pretty much all the citizens of Rockford are very nice. There are many events that happen in Rockford, such as the farmers market, harvest festival, the Santa Parade, and the Start of Summer Festival. Rockford Public Schools is a very safe school district and their academics are some of the best around.
I like Rockford's large schools and their downtown area. Rockford's population is large enough to find one's own niche, but not too large so that it seems overwhelming. It's not hard to fit in because there are so many areas to fit in.
Rockford is a very friendly town with much to do. You can meet new people every day! However, after living here for years I have run out of things to do, and activities become repetitive. It seems as if the highlight of Rockford now is to go get ice cream every so often and work all the time. There is also very little diversity in Rockford. The community is mainly white, and I would like to see a more diverse town.
It is a big town that has a beautiful downtown. There is much to do and see, but living there my whole life has taken a lot of the charm out of it. There is not a lot of diversity or excitement, but it is a solid, safe place that has a small town feel despite its large population.
I have lived in rockford my whole life and do not plan on moving ever! I have gained so many great friends at Rockford High School and will carry them with me forever. I have never not felt safe (no locking my car door right when I get in, no being scared walking alone at night). This town has so many kind people that would help out in case of an emergency. It is also so conveniently placed just 20 minutes from downtown GR and only a 40 minute drive to Lake Michigan! I can't forget to mention the unique boutiques located in downtown Rockford that are amazing!
Rockford is a very small town north of Grand Rapids. It is very quiet and safe which I absolutely love. I never feel threatened walking with friends down the trail or maybe hanging out at the park in the evening. It's a great place to raise a family.
Rockford is a great little town with an outstanding school district. It also has a nice downtown area, which is accompanied by greenspace and walking paths. Overall, it's a great place to live.
Rockford has a lot of walking and bike trails, good public schools, and a close proximity to the larger city of Grand Rapids, which has many breweries and restaurants.
Active town, very friendly people, tons of things to do, lots of opportunities for everyone, of course there are oddballs like every other town but Rockford will treat you with kindness unless you give it a reason not to.
