I have really enjoyed growing up in Rochester Hills. As a student who has gone through the public school system, I can say with confidence that it provides a high quality education that strives for inclusivity and college preparation. Rochester Hills also has a thriving downtown area, with many shops and restaurants for people of all ages to enjoy throughout the year. In fact, my favorite event in Rochester Hills is the light show downtown that begins around Christmas! It is always a memorable and gorgeous time of the year to be living there!

Being in Rochester Hills made me realize the importance of a place you can call your home. Granted, I haven't traveled much, however, rooted in me there's little voice telling me that I couldn't have grown up in a better place. From the local farmer's markets happening weekly to the monthly Dancing in the Streets events, there couldn't be more ways to discover what you enjoy as a person. Though, I wish there'd be more emphasize focused on the importance of the Great Lakes that surrounds us, as I'm fortunate enough to live in a place surrounded my 5 amazingly stunning bodies of freshwater.
Rochester is a expansive but relaxed community, ranging from young individuals and new families beginning to make their way into the world to retired couples looking to settle down. With a beautiful downtown, many local businesses, and well kept parks and scenery, it is a warm community. However, as a town with majority middle/upperclass socioeconomic standing, there are few resources for those that are blue collar workers or even below the poverty line. I feel that Rochester could expand and improve the community by including things such as public transportation and reduced cost/free health and wellness services.
