Living in Riverview, not a city but an unincorporated area in Hillsborough County, Florida, is a mixed bag. There is a variety of homes at a variety of price levels and most of the housing is relatively new and communities are well kept and managed by HOAs. The schools vary. The area is overdeveloped with heavy traffic. It’s OK if you work at home or retired, but if you need to commute to Tampa, forget about it! The traffic will get worse before there are any improvements in infrastructure.

Riverview is a pretty large city and growing. There are some more empty areas, but there's a lot of construction going on. Everything is nearby somewhere and I like it because it is pretty safe and people are nice. There are a lot of schools nearby, like Riverview High School and Bell Creek Academy among other middle and elementary schools. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a change of pace and are looking for a lot of suburbs. There are some nice stores in the area and eateries. Some good eateries would be Publix, Ciccio Cali, GastroPub, and more! Also, we have an awesome theater, GDX 14, it has reclining chairs, dolby, and gastropub is right inside, so I would 100% recommend going there and the Alley (bowling place).
There's pros and cons of the growing city of Riverview. I am a single mother so I'm not much into the night life but there are many cities within a 20 minute radius that have a very fun and busy night life and things to do for that group of people. There are also plenty of things to do for the parents with little ones as well. I recently moved from a smaller town so Riverview definitely has many more things to offer for me and my son, all within 30 minutes away, which is great! The one and only thing I would complain about is the traffic. Rush hour traffic is gridlock and on the weekends the roads stay pretty busy as well, especially if you are trying to enjoy a meal with the family at a nice restaurant, you would have to plan for at least a 40 minute wait to get in anywhere. So all in all I would say that Riverview is a nice place to live if you don't mind traffic!
