Riverdale is a town full of amazing and kind people. I would love to see the reputation of the town change. Many may believe that the neighborhood is bad news, but there are so many connections you can make with the people who reside here.
Riverdale would be a great place if they could get control on the gun violence in the area. I've been living in the area for a year and since I've been here there have been multiple shootings and I fear for my children because their school is across the street from my apartment and most of the shootings take place on my street. No parent should have to worry if their child is going to be shot as a result of a random shooting while their child is in school.
It's somewhat dangerous. But less risky to go outside with a group. (1 or more people you know). It's great to keep an emergency weapon or tool on you at all times. I've seen car accidents, and people hanging out outside a lot.
I've lived in Riverdale for the last 12 years and it's a quiet but extremely low income to poor neighborhood. With little to no violence.
The one thing I like about Riverdale is that the neighbors are very friendly. They are willing to help you out if they see you struggling.
I moved here about three years ago and thought that I would hate it. But surprisingly it proved to be much more than meets the eye and I ended up falling in love with it. Not only did I have to stay around here for school, but I also eventually found a job and that made living around here much more fun because I could do things that I couldn’t before. The trains, on the other hand, are somewhat annoying. If you get caught by one there’s a possibility that you will be sitting there all day so it’s best to know the alternative routes or you will be majorly out of luck.
Very terrible neighborhood and the property i live on is even worse. The neighbors can hear you talking vice versa. Apparently mines are very malicious. Definitely wants to move.
When i first moved to Riverdale it was awesome. It was a complete change from the urban city enviroment. The stores are walking distant, it's very quiet and lots of parks for children. However, there has been some shooting around the neighborhood. I've been living here for a year in the half but the Riverdale police has been on keeping the crime down.
It has its up and downs. It not all bad. Just pay attention to your surroundings and it’s actually a really good area.
I like that it’s near three different Metra stations but not many grocery stores. Somewhat safe neighborhood. Always activities
Riverdale has been a place for me to live since I have returned to school. This has been a community that can be quiet and peaceful. There are areas in this village that have taken a turn for the worst though.
Relatively quite suburb, Within minutes of shopping and expressways. The police force do patrol often and fire department is local as well. The village also has neighborhood schools, drug store, bank, and general store.
Very quite and village services are very responsive from police to pothole repairs.
Always see Officers 👮 patrolling and seem to almost be friendly and easily approachable.

Leadership is lacking. Constituents should become active in the electoral process. It is left up to the handful of people that feel like they are stakeholders to make the decision about who is elected. To get the right leadership it requires everyone's eyes to be on, and many more people to vote.
The area is not really the best neighborhood to grow up in or raise a family, but it isn't the worse that
Riverdale is a small quiet community, although I do wish that it was more safe and that the parks were cleaner; I enjoy living in this suburb.
For the most part I am pleased with my neighbor hood because despite the few shootings in the neighborhood you can hear a pin drop by 9pm some of the landlords are shady but you do have the good ones.
