Safe, family friendly neighborhood. You know your neighbors! Close community setting. Excellent elementary school in the area. Close enough to New Orleans that the commute is not terrible but far away to enjoy suburban life.

I was born in River Ridge, and so were my parents. I am currently looking to purchase a home in River Ridge, because it is my lifelong dream to return home! It is an excellent palce to raise children and live a happy life. Friendly and right by the river!
Incompetent government (but better than New Orleans), corrupt elected officials, expensive schools, nice people. I love the fact I can walk down the street with a beer in my hand without the world freaking out like I am carrying a bloody murder axe.
