The neighborhood is very peaceful along with the houses being very beautiful. I've been living here for about 4 years and, personally, it's very safe. I can walk around at night without worrying too much and I feel as though that it is a lot to say. However, there are a few bad apples in the neighborhood here and there. But, that's life, you'll always encounter bad people some way somehow. I wouldn't recommend sending your child to the local school (River grove School). The teachers there are full of it and pretty much prejudice to the children of color.

Living in River Grove for the past 19 years is nice because you are close enough to the city that you can just hop on the train but you also get the feel of the suburbs. Also, the famous Gene and Judes is located here. There are always fun events in the summer to go to such as weekly concerts. The public schools are also very good for this area. There is also Triton Community College located in River Grove. It is popular for many students living in the area. It is a good place to get an excellent education.
It's a relaxed neighborhood with two good elementary/middle schools and a few good high schools around. It's small and, apart from some weird one-way streets, easy to navigate
