This is the cleanest, most friendly town you will ever step foot in. The main street feels like you are in a Hallmark Christmas movie. Downtown has everything from food to boutiques to fit anyone's desires. Its generally a safe place and most of the housing areas are quiet. If someone is stalking you or trying to get into your home, the police will ignore you.
I expect it would be a good place to raise a family as a couple, but I would not recommend any single woman move here with their children. Sexism in this town is like a throwback to 1950's.
Ripon is a nice town with lots of opportunities, however, a lot of people here are very stuck up and can be quite snooty. The town is very small and has only about 7,000 citizens. Because of this, everyone knows everyone. There's not a lot of privacy. But also because of the size, theres also lots of chances to make friends and gain connections with people. The college is nice, but I hear more about the parties than I do about the actual schooling. I've only lived in Ripon for four years, so I don't love it quite as much as the people that have lived here their whole lives. I don't hate the town, and I don't adore it either. It's just okay.
