I relocated from the west coast with my family 2 years ago. Ridgewood was recommended by the relocation agency we used. We only planned to rent in the town until we figured out where we wanted to end up. It wasn't before long when we fell in love with the village. Couldn't imagine a better place to raise a family. Coming from out of state, we never felt like out siders. Everyone was very welcoming. Our street feels like a family! We're also very pleased with how serious everyone takes education here (took a little getting used to). Only critical feedback would be the Taxes. Can't imagine we'll stay after the kids graduate.
We moved to Ridgewood a few years ago with elementary aged kids. The schools in Ridgewood are unbelievable. We are a Somerville family which truly is a family! We have made friends with families from all over town (through our kids sports, etc) and I know that every family loves their elementary school and neighborhoods. The experience living here is unique in that it is very town connected and oriented. The school district does an excellent job of making the elementary/middle school/high school feel like one big connected family. The remote learning was hard work for the teachers and staff yet they all worked together and rose to the challenge. Ridgewood did not miss a beat. I highly recommend this town if you are looking for a great place to raise a family.
After considering a number of other similar towns, we moved to Ridgewood a little over a year ago and couldn’t be happier with our decision. It’s such a beautiful town to start and raise a family in and feels like such a supportive community. We absolutely love all of our neighbors and everyone we’ve met has been wonderful. The downtown has so much to offer and such great restaurants. We feel so lucky to call Ridgewood home and can’t wait to grow our family here!
