Richmond is such a great community. Some of the family shops downtown have been there for 30+ years and are extremely honest and personable. Downtown is always nicely decorated for the seasons, and never seems dirty or uncared for. There is a great bike trail we take our kids on. We even bought new bikes from the amazing, family-owned bike shop downtown. The trail is never overgrown or cluttered. Richmond Community Center also holds a summer camp for school-age children, which is so helpful for me and work. My kids have a blast! They swim, go on field trips, and play outside all day. Such a great town!
Cute, small town! Definitely a smaller area, but has quite a bit of charm. The community is really good, and good schools as well. There isn’t a lot to do entertainment wise here, but surrounding areas are great for that! Richmond has everything you need! Very family-based community!
Richmond is an incredibly small town meaning everyone is aware of your business. The censored atmosphere is headed by the families that have lived here forever, so if you are looking to move here know that your family will be the outsiders. Sports are often dictated by politics rather than talent, and are often full of mean bullies (both the adults and the children). I always felt like a target for mean comments and disapproval from them. Generally the town is safe, though, but it is far from civilization - everything is at least 30 min away from your house which can be a pain.
