Richland is a cute small town close to Kennewick and Pasco. There are lots of lovely parks, family friendly activities and events. With lots of sunshine in the summer, gardening is a great hobby! Enjoy easy access to restaurants and shopping. With vineyards everywhere, take your guests on a local wine tour! Beige rolling hills and valleys create a unique view throughout the Columbia Basin. Watersports are popular on the Yakima and Columbia Rivers that wind through the city. People are typically polite in neighborhoods and in business. There is a strong Republican lean in this area. There is limited racial diversity in Richland, WA and a has been slightly hostile experience for our mixed race children in the public schools here but it seems to be improving with time. Home prices are high but there are lots of decent paying employment opportunities. In our experience, medical and dental health providers in Richland are stretched thin. Plenty of pros & cons living in Richland, WA.
Personally I have experienced bad towns and cities but by far I enjoy living in Richland! Although most weekdays i spend my time working then come straight home, so I don’t really visit my surroundings as much because I’m always staying inside. Hopefully some day I would actually have that time to actually explore my area. But of course who doesn’t love going to the park and spending time with family! Moving from a small town is a big experience for me since there is so much traffic! It’s honestly a scary step but hey here I am enjoying it.
I love it here! The only thing I would say is if your struggling at all stay in contact with Richland utilities otherwise they will shut you off if your a month behind and it gets close to your second payment. I only know this because of when I was struggling. They did even seem to care that I had two young daughtets and there is some help here but not a bunch. The help here doesn't help everyone. There are lots of people struggling at the moment. Other then that Richland is a beautiful town and I love it here!
