Reynolds is a very small town with a lot of old history. Unfortunately, this town is stuck in the past in many regards. I moved to Reynolds at 5 years old and was the first mixed race person to live there. My mom grew up in Reynolds, and as a white woman, she had a wonderful experience growing up there...something she also wanted me and my little sister to experience. The reality we faced was one where we were ostracized and judged for the color of our skin. This town is backwards. They had segregated proms until just a few years ago. The charm and small town hospitality does not go very far if you are a person of color. I am thankful that I no longer have to live there, but I wish that this town would become more open, accepting, and diverse so that ALL people can enjoy the benefits of this little town.
I have lived in Reynolds my whole life. It was a wonderful town to grow up in and full of possibilities. I believe Reynolds would benefit from building a college for future students to attend. With a growing population and businesses more jobs can come available to help the younger generations.
