I have been a resident of Reisterstown for the past 5 1/2 years. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, such as: Dunkin Donuts, Chick-Fil-A, Wings Things N More, and a few others. In my opinion, Reisterstown is a safe place. Every year, there is a festival held in mid-September, to celebrate Reisterstown, in which there is a big parade. All the people are friendly to one another and it is a very close-knit community!
Reisterstown is a good place for kids & teens. I grew up there and recently moved away. It’s diverse, has a lot of immigrants from the former USSR, Asia and Africa, and a good economic mix, with rich neighborhoods and poor ones. Down side is, the poorer areas are pretty bad, crime & obnoxious behavior is certainly up, and Franklin High has gotten worse. There’s a lot of new construction; “old Reisterstown” is a bit rundown and Main Street is perpetually struggling. Reisterstown is good if you like diversity & aspirational suburban sprawl.
I love the small town feel! Everyone is so nice and there are plenty of things to do. It is also so close to Owings Mills and Baltimore City so you can experience everything that comes with those nearby areas as well.
