Redmond Reviews
Rating 4.07 out of 5 98 reviews
I live near Redmond for 8 years. Traveled to it since the 1950's. Overall average at best. Grew as an alternative to the always high home ownership prices and tight pack of Bend. Redmond has NO culture feel. Only a couple restaurants rise above average. All others feature pub food, yawn. Few but the basic services in Redmond, all others are in Bend.
Hapless dreamers from Tualatin we looked forward to country living vs. PMA suburban retirement. After 8 years of "country life" I am impatient to return to the PMA where convenience and higher quality services abound. Central Oregon overall is bereft (look it up) of culture save for outdoors activities. If you want more than that forget it, just visit.
All societal groups are tossed together out here making for an odd mixture. No one visits Redmond for anything other than a meal on the way to Bend. It is a pass through town.
On the whole Central Oregon. is for outdoors folks only tolerant of MAGA hats.

I've lived in Redmond for 8 years and I have never loved a place so much. Diversity holds strong as we house anyone from anywhere, beautiful mountains and trees surround us and our roots grow fast and deep, never making you want to leave. Summer air brings travelers but not as much as the towns near. Rivers carve the ground and give water to our surrounding wildlife. That's just Redmond.
Redmond is the place where if you drive around just waving to people they will always wave back. Which seems silly, but that was the first test I preformed when I moved here to see how friendly the people I was surrounded by are. This feels much more like a small community even though its growing at a very fast rate. You feel safe when you walk down the street and don't feel the need to look over your shoulder, and I used to live near Portland Oregon area so I know the feeling of being unsafe. I would recommend Redmond to anyone looking for a small town feel without it actually being small. Plus, being so close to so many great outdoor activities, it really is the best location.
