Red Oak is a quiet town that is quickly growing and diversifying as the years continue to pass by.
Growing up in Red Oak I always felt safe and secured whether I was walking to and from school or taking a stroll in the neighborhood. My first job was at the animal clinic, my boss and coworkers were absolutely wonderful and respectful. They showed me how to handle work conflicts with ease and poise and the importance of communication and understanding between coworkers. The town was centered around the high school and the pride was electrifying. The support of Red Oak High School really helped the students feel a sense of unity with the Red Oak Community. Since Red is a small town everyone knows each other and had a sense of pride and respectfulness when greeting each other in passing again representing family and oneness within the community.
Red Oak is exactly were I needed to be to lay the foundation of where I am now as a United States Service Member.

I love the city of Red Oak. I was born, raised, and went to school here. I moved back with my family to finish school and I love being back in my home town with all of my family and friends. Being in such a tight knit town you will see someone you know almost every time you're out and about. When something happens to someone, the community comes together and does their part.
A city like Red Oak has the potential to be good but holds itself back in many ways. Our local government is riddled with corruption and a lack of transparency. Anyone attempting to reform the system will face retribution and harassment for doing so. We have influential officials who exacerbate division in the community for personal gain. In this small town of 12,000, people living west of I-35 look down on those living to the east. The eastsiders accuse the westsiders of trying to create an upscale enclave by steering less desirable developments into their areas. It may sound far-fetched but its the truth. I want Red Oak have a bright future but a lot needs to change before we get there.
