Red Bluff Reviews
Rating 3.03 out of 5 74 reviews
Every 2 star (or less) rating has been my same experience here since 2008.
I will add: The people "in charge" here have feared actual progress for so long, wanting to keep the town small and "sleepy" - it has created an economically repressed area, in every way imaginable.
The town is rife with a ridiculous amount (per capita) of hard drugs, crime, homelessness and a fair amount of lawlessness.
The town motto is "It happens everywhere" and is verbally defended heavily, without any genuine action towards improvement.
It is also the nosiest place I have ever lived. Prepare for daily and nightly engine gunning and racing - on main roads and throughout the neighborhoods. As far as anyone has found - there is no enforceable noise ordinance.
If you're looking for a wild, wild west kind of living - this is your place.
The town anthem is sirens - I'm not even joking.

I like living in Red Bluff because everything that I need to buy is nearby. I do not like the drug trafficking in Red Bluff. Red Bluff is mostly a peaceful town with beautiful scenery. The Sacrament River runs through Red Bluff. Swimming in the River and a public pool are available in Red Bluff. Plenty of places exist to walk my dog. No smog exists in Red Bluff. The winters in Red Bluff are mild. The fall and spring seasons are beautiful in Red Bluff. The interstate is close for traveling anywhere in California. The trees are abundant, which include pine trees, and trees, and may other trees. The sky is beautiful, except during fire season. The weather is mild compared to Phoenix, Arizona and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The Veteran's clinics for military personnel are only thirty miles away. Traffic in Red Bluff is mild compared to city living. Redding, California is nearby and has all the amenities of a small city. I enjoy my life in Red Bluff. Public schools are nearby.
Red Bluff is a tiny conservative town. The schools are subpar outside of Salisbury Continuation, but overall the college campus is lacking. Homeless issue is rampant with some homeless camps and lack of access to mental health services only makes the problem worse. Fires, gunshots and homeless litter are common. Issue with stray cats as well. This place is a dead end with few jobs and opportunities. The public transport is horrible as well so expect to walk instead. If your looking for a less judgmental community and more opportunities- go to Redding. There’s nothing to do here but the view of the mountains is nice. The roads are horrible and not maintained at all and expect to get weird looks if you don’t appear ‘normal’.
