- Town in Maine
Rating 3.77 out of 5 13 reviews
Small town but close to major city. The people are friendly and the community is not afraid to support individuals who represent what they believe in.
Readfield is your typical southern Maine small town, there is no night life, as it is a small town, but I enjoy it.
Small, quaint, quiet; Readfield is the perfect place to grow up. Lakes are abundant and clear, local farms nearby and Augusta is only a 25min drive. There are only a couple places to eat in town but just outside of Readfield you can find more dinning opptions.
Some small things make the news every once in awhile in the area but i always feel safe
We have some local businesses and they're great.
Lots of people in this area commute to other areas for work. Most opportunities are in factories like Saunders.
Lots of local businesses. Parts of Augusta are overrun with large corporations, but apart from those parts there are a good amount of smaller, diverse businesses.
Augusta is very good for restaurants. Most surrounding towns have smaller restaurants, those are good too.
Quality of housing is good. Very few vacant properties. The vacant properties that are around are not in highly visible areas. Cost of housing is good. Readfield is the best town to reside in for this area, because it contains the high school.
Unless you work for the town, or the school there are not many employers in the community
There are not many. I live in a small community and have to travel about 15-20 miles to get to the closest city. We have a store that is wonderful with fresh produce and food, also an organic food store. Most of the buisnesses are eclectic in nature and are geared toward the locals. I love where i live
