    Cottleville

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO
    • 4 reviews
Niche User:I believe that I live in an average, typically friendly, middle-class town. It's quite a nice place to live; there's lots of places to go with historical town history, great resturaunts, and the school systems tend to help a lot with exposing the kids to various scholarship and volunteering opportunities. It's a very involved place.

    Millstadt

    • Town in Illinois
    • 4 reviews
Current Resident:Millstadt is a small town where people come together in a time of need. You see familiar faces everywhere you go, but still have newcomers often. Schools are top notch in education. The local small family-owned restaurants are amazing and welcoming with a variety of food options. Overall, Millstadt is a great place to live. Its also only 20 minutes to South County St Louis and 30 to downtown St Louis! My only negative comment is to be careful and weary of subdivision rules as a few are so strict, they send letters and threaten court sanctions if you do not comply. But that's not the city's fault. Choose a home in town or outside of a subdivision and it's a great place to raise a family or retire!

    Manchester

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO
    • 30 reviews
Niche User:I truly like this area. It's conveniently located between the small town my family lives in and the city that I work in.

It's very family-oriented, seeing as it's almost entirely residential; and there are many surrounding apartment communities with young professionals, like myself.

I see the prices in this area rising, because it is building up and becoming more popular. People will need to move further West in order to have more land.

    O'Fallon

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO

Niche User:We just moved to this new area of town, but I have lived in O'Fallon my entire life. I love it! It is constantly growing and updating. My parents have just bought a new home and it is in a different part of town. This is the first time that our family has never lived on a court and I have to say, I do not like it. We have four cars at our house so parking is crowded. Also their is not a convenient gas station to get to from my house

    Maryville

    • Suburb in Illinois
    • 6 reviews
Current Resident:Serenity has never been at its best with regards to an open environment. Maryville is such a beautiful place, which very much reminds me of time spent in the forest when i and my friend went on an holiday camping.
Much thanks to its well thought planning, ease it is with the flow and movement of vehicles which moves from its nearby st. louis area and pass through to catch a glimpse and experience the aesthetic features of this modern village.
It has been a great experience living here so far, however i would like attention to be paid to some abandoned buildings/infrastructure which looks to appear as a slight deface to this beautiful place.

    Lake St. Louis

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO
    • 8 reviews
Current Resident:I have lived in the Lake Saint Louis area for 8+ years and have found it a great place to live. I believe the school district to be one of the best. Neighborhoods are well maintained, have never even heard of any crime to speak of, and the people are friendly. There have always been job opportunities in the area and corporations are on the rise in the area. It is on the edge of where the city meets the country, so very accessible to weekend jaunts for canoeing, camping, hiking, and bike riding. I would recommend this area as a good overall place to live because of the many different price ranges for housing to meet a wide variety of incomes.

    Town and Country

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO
    • 12 reviews
Niche User:I absolutely love St. Louis and after I finish college, I plan on living in St. Louis. The atmosphere is amazing because most people are very friendly. I have heard that in other cities and states people just go about their own business and mind themselves however, people in St. Louis are not afraid to be friendly and talk to strangers. I think it makes St. Louis one of the mot friendly places where people actually care about their neighbors. I also like the format of the city. It is fun and lively with sports, theaters, and other entertainment. Not only that, but there are numerous parks around the city and suburbs that offer sometime to relax and unwind from our busy lives. The neighborhoods in the suburbs are also very nice and safe. St. Louis is an A+ city.

    Oakland

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO
    • 2 reviews
Parent:While the St. Louis area has suffered recently, the Kirkwood area continues to be a great "small town" feeling. However, lately it feels as though drug and crime issues are beginning to infiltrate the area in a way I haven't seen in the past. I wonder if that's just society today however, and not unique to my neighborhood.

    Chesterfield

    • Suburb of St. Louis, MO

Current Resident:Chesterfield is a great place to live! It has almost everything you could ask for. There are county parks, state parks, and plenty shopping with the two outlet malls being so close, so there is always something to do. There are two colleges in the Chesterfield area, and there are also many subdivisions so there is a great range in age in the area. Chesterfield is also home to some of the best schools in the St. Louis area, which means it stands out on college applications. Chesterfield is also centrally located, being less than 30 min from the downtown area and about 20 from downtown Saint Charles its such a great location. Once you check out Chesterfield, you'll understand why it's such a sought after town in St. Louis.

Nearby Resident:Cute college town with great restaurants and outdoor activities including miles of bike trails. There are also great libraries, pools and local shops to be visited. The university is the heart and soul of this growing town. Only miles from St. Louis there is so much the area has to offer. The weather in Edwardsville is every changing with each new season bringing an exciting variation to the available activities, views and local produce. The spring time brings forth the famous mushroom hunt, summer awakens the streams and lake visits. By fall families are ready for pumpkin and apple picking. In the winter the town offers ice skating and beautiful holiday decorations with locally grown Christmas trees for sale. Edwardsville is charming and has something for everyone.

    Godfrey

    • Suburb in Illinois
    • 26 reviews
Former Resident:What I liked about this city is that there was diversity. In other words, different colors are mixed in the society. In addition to diversity, I liked the college, Lewis and Clark, because there is history in the college as well as professors who are willing to help you when you need it. There are stores and restaurants everywhere you go. Godfrey is a city worth living in.

Niche User:I love living in O'Fallon in Illinois! Beside the fact that every few feet there is a roundabout right smack in the middle of the road! Not to mention the newest addition currently being constructed right outside of my neighborhood. The schools here are good though. If you are a freshman living in O'Fallon, then you have it best. The freshman have an entire campus to themselves. I loved the teachers and the lunch menu choices are to die for.

There is a large variety of restaurants, retail and specialty stores, and even a hotel. People are generally friendly, crime is relatively low, and it is an overall good place to live or visit.
