Current Resident:Decatur is centrally located to major shopping areas, local food places and hospitals. There are 2 large hospitals within 10 minutes of down-town Decatur. The school system is one of the best in the Country and there is always something to do on the square in town. There are festivals for adults and children and on Saturday nights in May, June and July there are free concerts on the Square. A popular club is Eddie's Attic where Sugarland, John Mayer and the Indigo Girls got their careers going. It's great!

    Johns Creek

    • Suburb of Atlanta, GA
    • 180 reviews
Current Resident:Johns Creek, GA is a very nice place to live. There are many nice subdivisions and parks around, as well as plenty of stores to go shopping at. It is very safe in this area and I almost always feel safe. The traffic lights could use better syncing up because traffic is usually very busy and I get stuck at many lights with bad timing. The city is usually clean, but has debris on the sides of the roads near the curb and road kill is not cleaned up very quickly. Other than that, it is a very enjoyable place to live!

Current Resident:Alpharetta is the perfect place to raise a family with four children! The people are wonderful. The area is beautiful. The community is one that you really want to be a part of in every aspect. There always seems to be something happening to bring people together like free concerts in the summer in Avalon which is a gorgeous area with high end shopping and great restaurants including a very comfortable movie theater, for example. Also, it feels like you never meet a stranger here meaning everyone you talk with throughout the day is helpful and kindhearted (for the most part.) It is just a special place to live! So when are you moving in? :)

Current Resident:Suwanee, Ga has always been home to me. I have lived in Suwanee ever since I was a little girl and I could not have asked for a better home. Throughout my 18 years of life I have lived in Suwanee, it has never failed to personally bring me joy and comfort. The schools in the local Suwanee area are more than top of the list and the people of Suwanee are always friendly and sincere. Suwanee is a safe environment for anyone whether you are searching for a new home to start a family or just somewhere to feel the comfort of your neighbors. Suwanee will always be home to me, and I would not have it any other way!

Full of unique restaurants with ethic flare and diversity, quaint and interesting shops, stunning parks with waterfalls, hiking and community for families enjoying life together! Schools are excellent, there are many places of worship for all religions, and many activities for children and families. Cost of living and taxes are slightly higher than its neighboring counties.

Niche User:I love how downtown Alpharetta has become a smaller version of Atlanta. There are amazing restaurants and activities that take place in the downtown area, I do not have travel far distances to now experience luxury and aesthetically pleasing places. I do wish the places downtown would stay open later because everything usually closes by 9. Other than that, the scenery and places downtown are beautiful!

Current Resident:I have been living in Dunwoody since 5 years and my experience has been great. It is very quiet yet busy location. There are grocery stores, fast food places, restaurants, church, theaters, banks and almost every necessities in walk-able locations. The are good side walks and the crime rate is minimum. The change I want to see in Dunwoody is to increase the number of street lights. There are few streets which are very dark yet safe but I think people will be more comfortable if the street lights are more.

Current Resident:When I first moved to Smyrna, I did not like the area because of the traffic and the distance from shopping centers and amenities. With all of the construction happening around the new stadium, I have been encouraged to see more businesses and restaurants popping up! This is going to be great for the city and I am excited to see how traffic will improve when construction is finished. It is a difficult area, being at the intersection of 75 and 285, but I think the city is doing what it can to make it a great place to live.

    North Decatur

    • Suburb of Atlanta, GA

Niche User:County government is corrupt and inept. Taxes are ridiculously high especially when compared to other counties. We don't get what we pay for. The police are understaffed. Code enforcement does not happen. The cities are doing a lot better than our unincorporated community.

Current Resident:Woodstock is a small beautiful town on the outskirts of Atlanta. It is a perfect place to live if you are looking for relaxation and a community that never seems to have problems. Despite its tranquil atmosphere, you will never face boredom. Woodstock offers an array of exciting activities to do, but you will have to come see for yourself! My only hope is that Woodstock keeps growing and gaining new people in the area.

Current Resident:I absolutely love living in Sansy Springs, Georgia! I have been here for a little over ten years, and this city has afforded me many opportunities that I otherwise wouldn't have had in the small town that I am from. Sandy Springs has everything a person could need or want in close proximity. I would highly recommend Sandy Springs living to anyone that would be interested. I especially love the sense of community in Sandy Springs. Not to mention the awesome police department that keeps their citizens safe. All in all, there's nothing I can say negatively about Sandy Springs!

Current Resident:I moved from rural Georgia to Duluth. It is comfortably close to all the activity Atlanta offers, but is less congested. Our home is surrounded by woods, creeks and hiking trails. The city offers many events through the year. Our favorite is the summertime outdor theater when they show movies, have activities for the kids and great food trucks. Moved here for the schools - stayed for the neighbors. Great place to live!

Current Resident:Kennesaw is a cute, small town in Georgia. There is a lot of history there, especially in the down town area. There are plenty of things to see and do, from the train that puffs along the train tracks every morning, to the quirky old bookshops on the square. There are nice parks, restaurants, and beautiful places like Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield. The people are friendly and will give you a nice helping of southern hospitality! I hope people continue to take care of our city, keep our parks kept and clean, and treat wildlife fairly.

Current Resident:Overall Vinings is like the best of both worlds. One can experience the convenience of living just outside of the city and having the peace of the suburbs at night. There are a lot of places to shop, dine and explore, including access to the Silver Comet Trail. It is the perfect in-between of the city and suburbs!

    Holly Springs

    • Suburb of Atlanta, GA
    • 12 reviews
Niche User:Though I grew up in a neighborhood setting, I am not blind to the happenings of other areas throughout my city. I know that due to sense of disparity, there are individuals who may steal, lie, or cheat for money.

However, throughout the last several years, the number of welfare program and service agencies have exponentially grown. These groups strive to not only provide food and shelter to families, but also to put good people to work so that they can be independent and active members of society.

I myself have participated in amazing events such as food drives, clothes drives, and Habitat for Humanity buildings. These activities show those who are scared that people in the community want to help them, and decrease the prevelance of crimes.

As for the crimes that may still occur, the police force works with integrity and compassion to keep all citizens in my home safe.

    Sugar Hill

    • Suburb of Atlanta, GA
    • 41 reviews
Current Resident:My initial thought about Sugar Hill is a quaint little suburb hidden between larger towns surrounding the area (Suwanee, Buford, Cumming, etc.). The architectural esthetic is fairly mixed with city hall being a beautiful classical-styled building with a clock tower and gold trim everywhere signifying a lot of wealth in the area. Even the lower class areas of Sugar Hill are well maintained and have decent curb appeal. The government has ordained that no more than 50% of the land is business which allows for a lot of residential intermixed with commercial lands. This allows for ease and convenience for the residents of Sugar Hill to be close to shopping but far enough that the neighborhoods are isolated without eyesores. Sugar Hill is also tucked just south of Lake Lanier, north of the city, and south of the Appalachian mountains which allows any resident to be 5-10 minutes from being on the lake, 30 minutes from shopping downtown Atlanta, and 45 minutes from mountain hiking.

Current Resident:I have enjoyed living in Brookhaven for the past 2.5 years as a full time student and worker. I always feel safe and am glad this is where I chose to live. The cost of living is quickly increasing as it's becoming a more desirable place to live. Easy access to the highways makes for easy and quick travel. I'm only 20 minutes away from most parts of Atlanta if there is low traffic. Brookhaven provides convenient shopping with small community like living, dining and shopping areas. I was very lucky to have chosen Brookhaven as a place to live.
