Some neighborhoods are very close and have regular block parties, and others are the opposite. It's just the luck of the draw with the sense of "community" in a specific neighborhood.

Living in south McAllen isn't so bad just that there is many crimes that do happen around that area. Due to living what we call "downtown" here in McAllen it can be a little scarier than living up north of McAllen. It's two very different living styles.
