I can only assume that those giving this city a 5 star vote have 1) Not lived anywhere else, or Don't get out often! Whilst it is clean, safe, I describe it perfectly as mundane. And who is giving our schools a 5 star vote?! Our schools are literally jam packed our classes are full to the brim and extremely overcrowded. Forest fires every year, we now have significantly poor air quality! No it is NOT healthy to continuously breath in air from forest fires! Most people in this city are barely scraping by and they tell themselves that somehow this is acceptable because its "California". The housing market in this city is ridiculous not in the least because you'll get much more bang for your buck elsewhere, no prefabricated looking 1970's houses near neighboring mission viejo and "Mediterranean style" houses that are screaming for upgrades and priced at 700k+ is NOT good, not in the very least. Yes the mountains are glorious but they come at a high price.

Couldn't have asked for a better childhood, growing up here. The streets are always so clean and the people who live here are so kind-hearted! I think I have been to absolutely every shop in this town and I'm a proud customer. Grateful to be able to raise my future family in a beautiful world, called, Rancho Santa Margarita!
My love and hate for my town has ebbed and flowed since I first began living here. Currently my feelings towards the town are one of fondness and enjoyment. Despite everything pretty much shutting down at 9 pm it is still a place I enjoy living in. The streets are largely clean, the view of the mountains is always gorgeous and the eating around here is pretty phenomenal considering its a suburb backed against the mountains. Overall I love my town despite its flaws and scandals. Seriously our city council has multiple sitting members with FPPC investigations open on them. Still. Its a pretty town at least.
