Love the nature feeling of Ramsey. Safe neighborhoods. Great neighbors. Schools are good. Weather in winter could be better.
Its great living here. Commute times are long. Neighbors are friendly. Parks are close by as are schools.
Ramsey is mostly filled with family life. There are dozens of parks, close neighborhoods (with large enough houses for big families as well as smaller houses for one or two kids), a market area nearby with a grocery store, subway, caribou, Acapulco, and a gym. You're within 5-10minutes of highway 10 which can help lead you right into the cities, and there are dozens of shopping areas on the way there. The only thing I dislike about Ramsey are some of the teenagers, they run with the wrong crowd and many people are having issues with vandalism, breaking into cars, and drugs (buying and selling). Usually they aren't violent, but they do cause issues.
This is an up and coming neighborhood for sure! Lots of new construction. Has the necessities in regards to the businesses - a couple of great restaurants and spas. But, is 15 minutes away from the nearest target. Is centrally located between Elk River and Anoka so you're close to more stores + shoppes.
I like how nice the neighbors are and the welcoming vibes but it’s not diverse with the people here. I also wish there was more jobs for teens to do around here.
Ramsey is very nice, super close to all the shops and has lots of parks and areas to be outside. I go to a neighborhood park all the time with my friends and we play football and soccer or walk by the river. Its such a great park, very nicely kept and the people are all friendly.
I would like to see more retail stores and shopping located in Ramsey. I would also like to see a few more sit down restaurants within Ramsey city limits.
I enjoy living in Ramsey. It's quiet, it has good community, and it has many places around it that are good for food and entertainment.
I live here as a student. I enjoy the community here; it's very family family friendly, the public schools are decent, and the job opportunities are diverse. There is not a lot of nightlife, though. It's relatively quiet.
This city is mainly housing but it is a great place to live with kids and animals. There are many parks to visit with new developments happening day by day. Close enough to the cities to be able to go there for fun on a random night, but far enough away you don't have that high speed jumbled city feel. It is a quiet and peaceful city.
Its a good sized city, it has the nice busy city feeling downtown and you can drive 5 minutes away and have the small town country living feeling as well.
LIved here for about four years. Within an hour of Mille Lacs and within an hour of the cities. The small town feel but also close to all the action. People are genuine. Want more shops and retail to fill in the core--more things to do.
I would change the roads and design a better, safer traveling path. Very Populated and needs to expand.
I raised three children here now my oldest daughter is raising her family here I have been in the area since 1989. I have also been a girl scout leader in the community and have also been employed here as a hairstylist at St Germain Style and also at Great Clips . Its a fabulous little place to call home.
I love Ramsey. Its just far enough out of the city to have space and close enough to go to a sporting event or Theater Production in downtown Minneapolis. I am a vegetable gardener and have two in a half acres to play with. Its either farmland, wetland, forest, streams/rivers, and lakes out here in Ramsey. If you prefer the friendly neighborhood, Ramsey has that as well. You can pretty much find any style of living in Ramsey except big city. Depending on the time of day, commuting to Minneapolis is 45 minutes by automobile. What I have fallen in love with is, the Northstar train service that runs to Minneapolis. There is a station in Ramsey and that commute is less than 30 minutes. There are multiple trains each day so there is some flexibility with your departure time. Another thing about the Northstar is WIFI. Very convenient for anyone working downtown that lives in Ramsey.
There is very low crime in this area. Police are always out and about (but watch for cops on the road...they like to pull people over for any odd reason...). The fire station is very quick to respond and second one was just built for the city for even more efficiency. Police are very involved in the community and make efforts to get to know residents! It's overall a very safe place to be.
This area is developing really fast. When I first moved here, we lived in the middle of nowhere. Since then, homes, apartments, clinics, and several businesses have been built. This area has a rural feel but is still close to the city. The community is very active and there are many biking paths and parks to enjoy. The whole city comes out in the summer for the farmer's market and performances/events at the amphitheater. The schools are great and the community is very safe. The future of this area is very bright as development continues. The light rail that goes to the cities goes right through town so people can use it to get to work or school. I would definitely choose to live here again!
