Raceland is a beautiful area with friendly people and a welcoming environment. My family has never had a bad experience
Raceland is a small community located in Eassten KY. The school system is excellent with great athletics and academics.. class size is small so each child gets lots of one on one attention. It is close to malls, grocery stores, movie theaters located in the heart of two neighboring states, West Virginia and Ohio.
We have great police there three city's and if you need someone there very fast to get to you . We don't have a lot of crime . A lot of people don't lock there cars or doors
I have grown up in this area all my life the school I went to there were no bullying that I have seen . The street I lived on is we have good neighbors .
The winter issues are generally resolved quickly. However flooding prevention and road maintenance is non-existence. There are "pot-holes" that swallow up cars.
I've grown up in urban areas near great agriculture with large selections of food. I miss that.
Crime is low but because of economic issues, homes are not as well maintained as they once were.
I'm from CA, extremely conscience of recycling but here is almost unheard of.
There are US Highways and state roads that are not maintained well but access is easy. There nearest large airport is 2 hours away. Sidewalks are not prevalent and pet walking is risky!!!
There is a lot of historical items in this area but it's also very niche; you have to like Civil War and Country Music and years of Industrial Revolution to enjoy the history in the area.
We have the basic stores near by but local businesses, beauty salons, garages, gyms are limited in selection
There isn't much diversity but everyone is aware of the world out that and prefer the lack of diversity and drama.
There is a wide range of homes from generational farms too dilapidated trailers....next door to each other for that matter.
There is tons of fishing spots, great camping areas, historic sites to visit, and just perfect for four seasons outside.
