Small town with a big heart! The community is very close-knit, coming together in times of need and celebration. In some ways, it's like stepping back in time a few decades. Kids can safely ride their bikes or walk around downtown. People know each other by name, or at least recognize the "locals." Lots of outdoor recreation opportunities all four seasons; and we DO get all four seasons!
It's quite small, and certainly is effected by the "small town effect" where everyone knows everyone, and everything about them. You can grow quite close to your neighbors here as well. It's a beautiful and quiet place to raise kids, but doesn't offer many opportunities education wise or even activities. You'll often find yourself driving a whole 1 hour 30 minutes to the closest Cities with real stores, more groceries, and other needs/wants that Quincy doesn't have to offer. If you're retired however, move here! It's beautiful, quiet, and tucked away in the evergreen Plumas National Forest.
Great vacation spot not a great place to live there's camping spots, hiking trails, beautiful lakes. My sister moved up there not having the best time of her life since she's been up there she now has 6 kids just from being up there it a one horse town if your looking for some place quiet
