Overall, it is a quiet community. A grocery store, gas stations, and dollar store are near by. A elementary and middle school are about ten minutes away. There is a community park for small children.
Great place to raise kids if you like a quiet, country setting. The neighbors are respectful and friendly. Crime is to a minimum and there is a grocery store and dollar general instead of having to drive to town.
Albany is a moderately large town that's doesn't live up to its potential. The population is decreasing rapidly because there is nothing keeping the residents around. Club life for the youth is limited to two clubs. The is outdated and in need of more popular, stylish stores. Recently one of the two the grocery store chains shut down leaving the town with a lack of grocery store choices. The gas stations are plentiful! My city is is desperate need of new restaurants. I've lived here all my life, and as of two years ago an Olive Garden was built. This is the first restaurant to come to Albany in years.
