Prosper is a wonderful place. I have had the privilege of growing up in this community. I have watched it grow from only a few thousand people to now tens of thousands in population, and the overall environment has been wonderful. It truly feels like a small town with aspects such as Gates of Prosper and the new football stadium truly uniting everybody. Highly reccommend!
Prosper is a nice area to live, but most of the housing currently available is new construction and prohibitively expensive. Of course, the expensive suburbs are also overwhelmingly white. The public schools are highly rated and highly competitive. Most work near the suburbs will be entry-level "clerk" or "cashier" types of positions, and there are few highways going through the area, so most jobs will have a commute that isn't a long distance (for Texas), but still takes longer to drive than you'd expect. Public transportation is non-existent.
My experience with Prosper has been overall Positive! I have lived here since I was in kindergarten and the community opportunities that you can have here are endless. The athletic and fine arts programs are very good within the schools so there is something for every student. Prosper also has as small town feel while also being close to big cities. While it may feel like there is nothing to do sometimes, many activities are only a short drive away. While the schools are overcrowded, I have still found a way to make friends I can tell I will be friends with for a long time. The community also has many events within the town and many of the celebrations and festivals are fun. With many shops and places opening in Prosper, the activities will also grow. If you are an outdoor person, Prosper might not be the town for you but there are hiking trails and lakes near by. The diversity in this town is also growing and while it still is mainly conservative, there are some liberal people.
