Prospect is a nice developing area, with everything within 20 minutes drive. However, there are a lot of things missing and the quality of the roads isn't the best when getting around. The people are in general really warm and welcoming, so that sends a good vibe as well.
Prospect is a the best suburb in the Louisville area. The Hunting Creek Country Club provides excellent golf, swimming, and tennis. Oldham County Schools are the best in the state of KY. Crime is low. Great local stores provide anything that you need. Scores of nearby restaurants and more shopping a few minutes away in the Springhurst area. The commute to downtown Louisville on River Road is incredibly easy. You can not beat this hidden jewel in the Louisville area.
Prospect is cute little suburb filled with immaculate amounts of nature. Would definitely recommend living here if you enjoy being outdoors.

Small town charm with great access to the downtown Louisville museums, theaters and restaurants. We live in the Oldham County section of town and have access to good public schools and smaller subdivisions for a better sense of community.
It's a great community. It is close to the city but far enough away to seem somewhat rural. The community offers a variety of experiences and is growing to become more diverse.
Nice area, but homes are built practically on top of one another. Cost of living is much higher here than just a few blocks down the road as well. The Norton Commons subdivision is like Stepford...really creepy, but the NCES is amazing.
We currently live in Prospect, KY. It is a beautiful town tucked away along the Ohio river. It generally takes 20 minutes to get to any shopping center, but the drive is worth it if you are looking for a QUALITY place to live.
The public schools are ranked in the top 10% of the country.
Call it midwestern or southern, either way the hospitality is welcoming. My neighborhood, Paramont Estates, in particular is unique with a quarry lake, nature trail & clubhouse that includes a hot tub, workout room, meeting & social gathering rooms, racquetball courts & an indoor junior Olympic sized swimming pool! The school campus is around the corner & includes our elementary, middle & high schools. The public schools for Prospect, Oldham County, KY, neighborhoods are fantastic; North Oldham HS, leads as a superb college prep school. We have a great grocery store; a few restaurants which provide good food & service & offer a variety in types of cuisine; a friendly & helpful hardware store; a couple of doctor offices, orthodontists, dentists, hair dressers and gas stations. One time, our car broke down right as we were leaving one of the gas stations and the local vehicle maintenance place came right over & took care of us! DQ & The Pie Kitchen for homemade pie & ice cream rock!
Very nice area to live in.
Very good place to live.
Some areas need work more than others, but generally Louisville is clean and safe.
Louisville has problems with the air quality since we are in a valley. I do like living here because I feel safe and typically people are very friendly.
i love living here. there is so much to do and of course we are all awesome we are home to the kentucky derby. i see this area as expanding and more construction taking place to make the city bigger and become one of the biggest cities.
There are tons of places where you can eat by me but nothing that is open late. Everything in Prospect closes around eleven o'clock. i also am not twenty-one yet so i can not drink so i am not really sure about the happy hours around me. Also if you wanted to go clubbing, there isn't anything by me that would be open. you would have to go to St. Matthews area or to South Fourth Street
There are tons of job opportunities for everyone whether you have a college degree or not! Most people in my part of town are doctors, lawyers, surgeons, etc.
The police and fire departments are on top of it in the metro area. They genuinely care about the citizens in Louisville and are not necessarily out to get you but are trying to keep everyone safe. the public services that the metro area has are wonderful and i feel like all laws are necessary
there are a lot of little shops to go to that are really cute such as Lady Bug and Tullys. they are really cute retail stores that are owned locally. i can always find everything i need in this area. they always have anything and everything that i will need.
