My home is technically within Prairieville, however my life had been centered mostly around Geismar (though that wasn’t an option). A lot of my childhood has been spent in the Dutchtown school’s, and despite the amount of times I’ve moved I have enrolled in the primary, middle, and high school. Though I am not the most sociable person I am often able to find people related to me or know people related to me. It gives me a sense of there is family everywhere. Overall, it is comforting and what I consider home no matter where I move to.
I love it here. The people are kind and there are tons of local and chain businesses. The pubic schools in Ascension parish are top tier and some of the best in the state. My one complaint is that the city is growing, but the local and state governments don't seem to have a plan. They just keep building housing developments without planning for water drainage or traffic.
Prairieville is a small rural, quiet area where new developments are being built. Ascension Parish district is considered to be a top rank locally due to high grade point average from each school. New roads and new neighborhoods are being built for more people to live in this area which can be a wonderful place to live and children to attend the schools. This area is not known a lot like the city Baton Rouge which is why it is set apart from the stressful traffic and noisy places cities are widely known to be. I personally grew up here all my life and I have seen this area slowly grow and become more populated with people. You will see a lot of people drive through this area because it has a lot to offer to them. There are a lot of nearby food stores, and gas stations being built near each common entrances in Prairieville. This area is calm, pretty section of Louisiana where you will see more nature like things native here. You will not live close to each other nor have complains.
