Prairie Village is a wonderful place to live! All of my friends live near and the traffic is light and controlled. Shawnee Mission East and Kansas City Christian are each wonderful high schools located in the area, along with several SMSD elementary and private elementary schools. All schools exceed in academic and extracurricular excellence. As a student, and senior, of SME I feel very prepared for college and believe East gives me the greatest education to prepare me for state university higher education along with elite, even ivy league, schools.

I really like living in Prairie Village, because it's a safe environment to live in. I do believe that there needs to be more diversity and it shouldn't be so expensive to be a resident here. The reason it is so expensive is, because most of the kids that live in the area attend Shawnee Mission East. Which is a very great school and I have had a mostly positive experience here, but the school does lack diversity. I think if we integrated more non-white students, those students would be more willing to do well and succeeded, because of the atmosphere, the teachers, and the staff we have here at Shawnee Mission East.
Love living here! Grew up in Prairie Village, moved away with parents during high school, but then moved back after college. Have raised my three children here. Very quiet, lots and lots of large oak, sycamore, and maple trees. Schools are top notch. Very friendly, safe place for families of all ages. Lots of starter homes and plenty of medium and large homes, too. Residential lots vary from 1/4 acre to 1 acre. Lots of shopping nearby. Close access to highways for easy commutes to anywhere in the Kansas City metro area.
