Poulsbo Reviews

We’ve been vacationing in this area (Olympic National Park, Poulsbo, Bainbridge Island, Port Townsend, etc.) for many years. When we retired we decided to make the move from the intense heat, outrageous property and sales tax, and insane politics of Texas to the beauty of Poulsbo. We were a little nervous about “all the rain and grey skies” during the winter but have been pleasantly surprised at how temperate the climate has been. We have distinct seasons but very little snow, temperatures mainly in the 40’s and 50’s this winter, gorgeous fall colors that last for a long time, and we already know how amazing summers are here! Housing is not cheap but it’s worth the cost to live here! The area is not only a vacation destination but many retirees are also discovering Kitsap county. The traffic is minimal, great restaurants, lots of shopping, ferries, hiking, boating, the list goes on and on. We feel so fortunate to get to live here!
Poulsbo is an excellent small-ish town across the water from Seattle. Our quaint Scandinavian-inspired downtown draws tons of visitors with events like the annual Viking Fest, solstice bonfires, and many more local happenings. Located around Liberty Bay you can get fantastic views when you come to town, and there are many local businesses with unique and outstanding services for you to shop and eat at. The community is lovely and supportive and there's no other placed I'd want to call home.
Poulsbo, Wa is a beautiful, quaint town in Kitsap County, Washington. It has a Norwegian culture foundation including Sluys bakery located downtown. You can rent paddleboards and kayaks at the marina during the summer to see seals, the Olympic mountains and much more!
