It is a very small "everybody knows everybody" town. Job opportunities are limited, but people don't move here for work. They move to Pottsboro for the education and for the community. Lake Texoma is right down the road and makes for great family and friend gatherings. The drive to local grocery stores or restaurants is a short fifteen to twenty minute drive. Meeting new people can be difficult at times, but going to the Friday night football games is an easy sure way to meet at least three other new families to connect with.
Pottsboro has a very small town in Texas vibe. Most of the people I know who work there either have to commute at least an hour or either work for themselves or one of the nearby marinas. As for nightlife, the town is basically in the country so you either drive half an hour into Sherman or drive to the casino.
Really nice lake area. Laidback and quiet. Maybe more outside and access to inside basketball courts and things for teenagers to do besides water activity.
