Potomac is a very beautiful, but very quiet town. Cabin John and the Village are the two main commercial centers of the area. Other than riding your bike around town or joining a local pool or country club, there is not a lot to do in the area. However, the town is very safe and is strategically placed. You're about thirty minutes from DC, upper Montgomery County, and Northern Virginia because of I-495 and 270. Overall, Potomac is a nice place to live, if you want a quiet place to live and have a lot of money to spend and own a car.

Potomac is a great town to live in. Since it is only a short drive from Washington, DC, you get all the opportunities of a big city while still getting the small town feeling by living in Potomac. From Potomac Village with a mom-and-pop hardware store, to the easily accessible bustling capitol city, Potomac is a unique town as well as community to be a part of. The proximity to Washington, DC, has created a lot of diversity, since a lot of people in Potomac work in Washington. People from all walks of life live in my town, creating numerous cultural events year round.
Extremely expensive but people have their priorities straight here : education, education, education. This town is substance over cosmetics, people don't flaunt money but sink tons of it into their kids, their schools, their properties and their kids ' education. One of the most sophisticated towns in the USA.
