Potomac is a very beautiful, but very quiet town. Cabin John and the Village are the two main commercial centers of the area. Other than riding your bike around town or joining a local pool or country club, there is not a lot to do in the area. However, the town is very safe and is strategically placed. You're about thirty minutes from DC, upper Montgomery County, and Northern Virginia because of I-495 and 270. Overall, Potomac is a nice place to live, if you want a quiet place to live and have a lot of money to spend and own a car.
Potomac is a great town to live in. Since it is only a short drive from Washington, DC, you get all the opportunities of a big city while still getting the small town feeling by living in Potomac. From Potomac Village with a mom-and-pop hardware store, to the easily accessible bustling capitol city, Potomac is a unique town as well as community to be a part of. The proximity to Washington, DC, has created a lot of diversity, since a lot of people in Potomac work in Washington. People from all walks of life live in my town, creating numerous cultural events year round.
