My husband and I purchased a house in Portsmouth after arriving in Rhode Island. Our neighborhood is quiet and the families are all friendly. We were a bit nervous at first because our kids are young and rambunctious but all of the neighbors expressed excitement about having young kids in the neighborhood again! The neighborhood is a great place for going on family walks. Additionally, we are located close enough to Newport and Boston to make easy trips but far enough away to not be impaced by the night life!
I am a new resident in Rhode Island, and I love being a part of this beautiful state! My husband and I moved here due to a new job that he accepted. Portsmouth is a quiet, lovely town on the water, and we have absolutely loved the way of life here! Our community is safe, and the school districts are very positive!
Portsmouth is a well-maintained historical town on beautiful Aquidneck Island. It is in a great location, as it is close to so many things including historic Newport. The public school system is pretty good, and residents are trending conservative. Many military families move here, as it is very welcoming to new residents. There are lots of ways to get involved with the community.
