I am a new resident in Rhode Island, and I love being a part of this beautiful state! My husband and I moved here due to a new job that he accepted. Portsmouth is a quiet, lovely town on the water, and we have absolutely loved the way of life here! Our community is safe, and the school districts are very positive!

I love the quiet neighborhood, the fact that neighbors wave and smile at each other. It is a relatively small town that has many income options from more expensive to more affordable housing. I do wish however there would be more of a town center with everyday needs being able to be met. There is a grocery store but not much in the way of a retail store or variety of eateries. As a place to live I would say that it is a great quiet neighborhood, if you don't mind a short drive to go "into town."
Love living in Portsmouth. Safe, friendly and tons of outdoor activities. Near to Newport with mansions and tourist shops. Loads of Restaurants and nightlife anytime of the year. Beautiful beaches in Portsmouth and Newport and Middletown.
