I have lived in Porterville all of my life so my review will most likely be biased. It’s a nice town with tons of great people. Every teacher I’ve ever had has been more than willing to accommodate to the situation of every student. For those that need help it can always be found somewhere in our community. Church and faith is also a huge part of our community. Though our town is full of spiritual people not once have I felt like someone has imposed their religion on me. The biggest flaw of our community to me is probably the lack of points of interest. We have parks and stores but I feel like that isn’t a ton. I’m more of an introvert and this town has the perfect amount of entertainment options for me but for other I can understand why this is bad. On clear days you can see the beautiful Sierra Nevada’s and it’s a sight you can’t get tired of. Overall it’s a great community with great schools and amazing people, it is a little lacking on entertainment though.

Living in Porterville is nice, Over time your realize how boring it can get here since there isn't much to do as there is like Fresno and Bakersfield. The people are decently nice and comforting compared to other places and most of use know each other since it's a nice small town!
I like the area, good for raising kids, but public parks need some help. School are very good as well but i would like to see more field trips for the children so that they could learn more about the world and about other areas. I would also like to see more community activities. Maybe having a place where kids can go without having to pay a fee to just hang out without worrying about the weather outside. I would also like to see more involvement in the community for the holidays, maybe set up more events so that families can gather and celebrate, almost like a farmers market style, and make it welcoming for all races, ages, and groups. What i dislike is that sometimes there are too many areas un Porterville where there are some homeless people and maybe we can also provide support to tose homeless people in some way.
