Overall I find the town of Portage to be an amazing place. It's been my home since birth and offers very much for everyone to experience. We have all commodities that I can think of available. We also are very close to Downtown Kalamazoo, which is rich in culture and offers a lot as well. We have a good number of streets full of businesses and plenty of room in the area for residents. However, I would like to see the parades and events that Portage did eventually make a return as they have been cancelled due to concerns over COVID. Overall, I find the town of Portage to be amazing and wouldn't prefer any other place to live.
Portage is a small town in Kalamazoo County that has mostly everything that you may want or need and if it doesn't, one the surrounding areas such as Grand Rapids, South Haven, and Detroit will! The main thing that I believe the town lacks but would benefit is more police. Although the town itself is quite safe, there is a shortage of police officers.
