Port Washington is great little lakeside town to grow up in. While like any town is has its pros and cons, you just can't compete with the views and people that you'll come to know here.
Port Washington, WI is an amazing area. Whether you enjoy walking on the lakefront bluffs or attending the year round street festivals, you will find something to enjoy about this city. This historic city offers some of the most beautiful sights in the state and is the perfect place to raise a family if you are looking for a quiet suburb with an easy commute to work and adequate education.
Port Washington is a great and smaller town with friendly people. The downtown is beautiful with amazing views of the Lake Michigan.

This small harbor city boasts a thriving main street full of locally run shops and charming pre-civil war architecture. It's a peaceful setting that offers outdoorsmen room to play, bike, and hike. The iconic maria makes Port the premier destination for pleasure boats and sizeable fishing charters to dock up all summer. We moved here because it's a family-friendly environment and yet easily accessible to world-class entertainment and employment opportunities in Milwaukee.
I have lived in Port Washington all of my life and can safely say that Port Washington is a very well rounded place to live. The recent developments have made the city more a hub of a place to be in the North Shore area and has a lot to offer. The numerous parks along the lakefront are absolutely beautiful and the views of the beaches as well as Lake Michigan are beautiful as well. The high school is undergoing a 50 million dollar renovation and more (higher end) homes are being built here. Port Washngton is starting to really redevelop into a very nice place to live just north of Milwaukee. Safety has never been an issue, the residents are very kind, and the public schools are also very good. Port Washington and the surrounding area of Ozaukee County is the kind of place that you would want to raise a family and settle down in. It isn't a surprise that it is one of the top counties to live in in the country.
i love the lake. the view is excellent. cost of living is relatively high, but not as high as some of the surrounding communities.
I'm in love with all of the parks and places to view Lake Michigan. They're well-kept, and it's a great way to get out and enjoy the day. I run to the beach from my house during the summertime every now and then, and it's so refreshing.

As far as safety goes, I'd say that Port is very safe. We have our moments, but every place does.

Schooling is not fantastic, but it isn't horrible. I have not attended here, but have in Grafton.

Overall, Port is beautiful in many places, and I'm so thankful to live in such a place!
Port Washington is an amazing small town right on Lake Michigan. It is close enough to the city of Milwaukee, but not too close. The downtown strip is lined with beautiful restaurants and boutiques. In the summer a festival called Fish Day is what all the locals look forward too. The only thing I would change, would be to create more things for teenagers to do. In order to go to a movie, or anything really you have to go to another city.
Port Washington is an idyllic lakeside city with a downtown that has managed to keep up with the times but retain the look and feel of a historic fishing town. The marina is beautiful and well kept, hosting a fourth of July celebration that you cannot miss. There are plenty of community events throughout the year including Fish Day, the largest outdoor fish fry that I have ever seen. Friendly people, clean air, and not far from Milwaukee if you need access to the big city. The area is developing all the time and it has been wonderful living here.
Port is a very safe city to live in. Police are friendly and visible.
Port Washington is a great place to live. The schools are competetive against more affluent cities. Housing is affordable and less expensive than other areas in the County. The city has a down to earth feel with friendly neighbors.
My only concern is the roads. They are horrible to drive on and in winter become over salted. The snow plows do an okay job at plowing streets and often plow people in.
It might be a small town and can get boring as far as things to do from time to time, but the town is beautiful and full of great people.
It's a fun and safe place to live.
Wisconsin has good summers and bad winters.
Its a grocery store, so not amazing.
