Port Lavaca Reviews
Rating 3.83 out of 5 24 reviews
There is nothing to do in Port Lavaca besides fishing and going out to bars at night. There is a small movie theater with two screens. There are many, many Mexican restaurants. There is a Walmart for clothes shopping only. To get anything decent or to find something to do for fun, you must drive to the next city for that. The political views are ultra conservative in Port Lavaca. If you or your child are a little bit different, be prepared to be mocked and bullied all the time. Most housing is geared towards plant workers. A house will be for rent with four bedrooms. Each bedroom has two beds in it. Each bed will cost $200 a week in rent. Nothing for families that is affordable at all. The beach is ok. Very tiny, though. There aren't alot of jobs other than working at the plastics plant nearby. In all, I believe Port Lavaca is a good place for a single man or woman to come work. If you have a family, move somewhere else that is more affordable and family friendly. Hopefully, this revi
It was my first time going abroad and travel internationally. I was thrilled to be in TEXAS with my new family, host parents. When I told my teachers that I am going to Texas to become an exchange student, they told me if I go to the Dallas Airport, I will see a bunch of cowboys and cowgirls. But it was not true, instead I met lots of country people with kind hearts. They are the most loveable people that I've ever met and I love Port Lavaca. It is the best place to enjoy Texas and Mexican. I love their culture and their people. I am hooked on Port Lavaca, Texas. I love this place so much
I like that it's by the beach, and has zero traffic. I wish the town was cleaner, there is a lot of run-down buildings and I feel like it ruins the beautiful location. There is also not that many places to go. For celebrations there is only one place to go, the bowling alley.
