Port Jefferson Station Reviews
I just moved to Port Jefferson Station from Canada. I love how the train station is close by for easy access to New York City, and I love the downport area. There are a lot of things to see (such as the beautiful beaches) and lots of trails to walk on. The best hospital in the area is Mather Hospital. However, I believe there is a lack of community resources available for immigrants, the homeless population, and those struggling with substance abuse. Many of the people I have encountered claim programs get filled quite easily, and many have to wait for an opportunity. I would love to see more resources opened up for people nearby as opposed to a train or bus ride away, so people have more access. Besides this, I just wish people wouldn't litter as much, I wish there was a recycling program, and I wish people drove a little slower! Overall though, the sightseeing and slightly more affordable property tax are redeemable qualities about this place, and I don't mind living here!
It is a very family oriented place. Very great parks, safe neighborhoods and pizza! EVERYTHING IS PRETTY CLOSE TO RESIDENTIAL AREAS.
Port Jefferson Station is a very quiet and safe environment. I would definitely like to see more diversity and racial equality. In my area, it is predominantly white, which I believe needs to change.
