Pleasant Hills is a nice suburb of Pittsburgh for raising a family. It is a safe environment, with mostly single family homes and friendly atmosphere. The homes are older but well maintained and people take pride in keeping their yards up. It is a middle class, somewhat conservative community. There is easy access via Rt. 51 to city activities. We lived in Pleasant Hills for 24 years and have kept close ties in our old neighborhood since a job opportunity moved us across country a decade ago. The economy and real estate market have remained relatively stable in Pleasant Hills while the rest of the country has experienced dramatic swings. The cost of living is quite reasonable there also. The community is very appropriately named!
Pleasant Hills is a wonderful and friendly environment. People are usually engaging with their neighbors and peers or are enjoying different activities around the area. Small shopping centers are located frequently around here, and is easy to get to other places from the area.
Beautiful homes in all different price ranges, schools are rated good and the new high school is opening this fall. We have great championship sports teams for our Highschool/school district which is know as TJ but officially is West Jefferson Hills SD. We 5 mins to the beautiful South Park with bike trails, playground, dog park and wave pools. We’re are starting to get a lot of new restaurants and a new Fresh thyme market.
