Plattsburgh is a town with very little to do. It has a lot of gossip and there is not a lot of potential for growth here, especially if you are middle class. There are not a lot of good activities for children- you must have the money to travel over to neighboring Vermont or throughout the state of New York in order to find fun and/or educational outings for kids that are not cheesy. For adults, there is not much to do either. The nightlife crowd is boring, and the college students here are more about partying than studying and can often be rude. I attend an online college for this reason. Additionally, it is not a diverse area. It is predominately white. I do not recommend this town!

Plattsburgh is a small city 60 miles south of Montreal, Quebec. It has many local businessness which are easy to find by visitors who come to our area. Many of our visitors enjoy the Adirondacks no matter what the season is. People are able to camp, hike, swim, fish, bicycling, skiing and snowmobile riding. Visitors enjoy the freedom of the countryside atmosphere. Lake Champlain is a beautiful as it shapes the boundaries between Vermont and New York State. Boating and fishing are the main events on the lake which people enjoy the water while soaking up the sun. The Champlain Ferry helps to commute people back and forth from Plattsburgh to Vermont several times a day. This commute helps to minimize drive time and visitors are able to enjoy the breath taking scenery along the way. Other main attractions are the wineries, sugar houses, museums, and local events. This place has it all. Please stop by and share your experience.
Plattsburgh is a beautiful area for those that love the outdoors. Located close to the adirondacks there are endless opportunities for those looking to go out and explore. Also, a great location to raise a family!
