There must be something in the water, because everyone is so friendly! It is a college town. Plainview is home to Wayland Baptist University, which is a private Christian University. The land is very flat and dry. It hardly ever rains. However, when it does, it pours. It snows once or twice a year . It is roughly fourty-five minutes from Lubbock, Texas! Which makes Texas Tech roughly an hour away. Plainview is a very small, peaceful town. It’s a great place to raise children or start your family. The area is known for farming.

I was born and raised in Plainview, TX. This small town has a few small boutique shops and a nice little coffee house. Plainview is well known for the downtown area where you can go antique shopping, browse small boutiques, and eat at small local restaurants with country cooking! I would love to see Plainview invest more into the town to add more job opportunities, shopping centers, and invest in the empty buildings that are all around the area. Even though my hometown is a small country town, it has been known for filming the movie, "Leap of Faith" staring Steve Martin!
Best little town in Texas! Plainview has good schools, and many places to work. Safe little town without lots of traffic. Very friendly community, with big cities close for any needs.
