Plains Township Reviews
I live in Luzerne County Pennsylvania. While I thouroughly enjoy where I live and the people I see, our county is not the greatest. A survey shows that we are in the top 10% of most depressed counties in America, We have a very high rate of drug use and alcoholism too. These are fixable problems. If you stay away from that stuff, like myself, Luzerne County is actually a very nice place to live. If I were given a second life I would choose to live here. There are many things to do on the weekends such as movies, high school sproting events, golfing and other fun activities. During winter, we have a ski mountain avaliable less than 20 minutes away, so there's a great amount of things to do here. Also there are many local colleges in luzerne county that offer a geat education. The future of this area looks murky. One positive thing is that my local school district (which is second largest in the county) is going to be building a new school within the next few years. A negative thing about this county is that our population has slowly declined over the years. In 1990, our population was around 75,000. Now were around 45,000.
Where I live is at the cross-roads between NYC, Philly, Baltimore, and Pittsburgh. A lot of drug related crimes that we continually have to deal with. Our police force handles it well though. They know where the main areas of drug dels happen and can pinpoint who the people are.
