I have lived in Plainfield for over 20 years and love seeing how much it is expanding! It seems like there are always stores opening, new neighborhoods being built, etc. Naperville is less than 30 minutes away, at least from where I live; Chicago is a train ride away from the route 59 station; there are plenty of stores, restaurants, and places to hike. Although I'm moving to the East Coast, I did enjoy living here. My only complaint is how there isn't much to do after hours, as almost everything is closed. At that point, you're better off going to Naperville or Chicago. Either way, a wonderful place to live, especially if you're looking for something family friendly.
Plainfield is a great big (small) town as far as availability to several grocery stores, restaurants and a great discount produce store called Peter Rubi’s. The downtown has been renovated within the past 5yrs and everyone loves it there. I feel safe living here and the people are very friendly! Now if I could just move this town to southwest Florida, it would be paradise!
There’s lots to do in Plainfield! I live generally near a sled hill, dog park, and walking trail. I’m just a few minutes from an adorable downtown area with great restaurants like Sovereign, MORA, Uptown Tap, and Hazel Marie’s. Lots of cute shops too. Plainfield is pretty central to other towns too and has easy access to the highway for easy travels.
