The schools need more teachers and staff. Night life can increase to add diversity because majority of lounges and clubs are owned by the latinx population. There has been a lot of new innovation within the area. Hopefully more to come and change the demographics of the town to include more varieties of people, accommodating different age groups and cultural backgrounds. Bring the community together and providing activities for all age groups. Bringing in a recreational center where people can go and hang out as well as find resources they may be looking for. The crime rate has been decreasing, however there is still work to do in the city of Plainfield. Hopefully the work can continue and the residents can enjoy the new and improved Plainfield and impact all situations. Looking for a place to call home, Plainfield may be the place for you it may not be. However the town is in the process of redevelopment, if you are willing to embark on the journey of new, welcome to the Queen City!
The schooling system of Plainfield needs to change. After finishing high school in this town I noticed that most, if not all, the staff have encouraged students to give up trying to reach higher standards and have dismissed the notion of students in going to better colleges rather than the resident community college. Instead of pushing for students to do better and be better, the staff gives up on the “hopeless” students and have offered no help to the students who struggle with he environment or English.
I have lived in sleepy hollow section for 16 years. I take the train regularly to nyc. The town has continued to improve and for locals that are secure this is a hidden gem. People and homes are very diverse. Lots to do nearby. Great for walks whether early or late. Lately we have seen an uptick in investment and improvements by home owners, investors, government and flippers. If you are looking for a long term investment this place is it. We are surrounded by expensive towns and get to the city, beach and pa easily. I think if we can get a few more shops, restaurants and continued investment by home owners we will continue to see significant improvement. Not sure how all the apartment construction will affect the town. I hope it lowers taxes and spurs services. I think also if we can continue to get more young families that schools will gradually improve or you can use the good private schools or charter ones
