I know several of the police and firemen in the area and they do their best to combat the problems in the best way possible
Having lived in several cities and states around the country, Hot Springs has one statement that seems true. 95% of the residents are either nearly dead or newlywed
You always see police out, which makes it very comfortable to live here.
Its not where i want to be forever but its a great place to go to college.
There has been quite a spike in drug addicts and sellers moving in the neighborhood, but once the landlords are notified they are quick to remove them. There's no real violence in the neighborhood, very rarely any theft.
As with most places, it depends on what part of town you are in. Most of the area is safe but there are definitely places that I wouldn't go alone or at night. I see the police around all the time but I'm not aware of their response time.
It is an absolutely beautiful area. Lake Ouachita can take your breath away and is a great place to spend summer days. It is one of the cleanest lakes in the country and being so close to it is a privilege. Overall, the people are kind and have southern hospitality. I would live here again. It's not a metropolis so it has a calm feel, but still has a lot of things to do.
I feel like I don't have to worry
the winter is the worst thing. Major roads are ice
World Buffet is nice and has a variety of dishes
Pet-co on central has very rude employees
