I live on the border of pine hills, ocoee, and apopka. Although my neighborhoods are not in the center of pine hills, my family and I have lived here long enough to say that this really is a changing community. Pine hills has always been considered crime hills. However, to us, we have never witnessed anything different compared to other areas we have lived around Orlando, and we have lived in many of them. Your common stores are efficient as ever, the dominant cultures here support a welcoming environment, and the amount of opportunities in education and work are as good as most. The crime rate was always a #1 factor for this area, and it definitely has gone down substantially. I simply wish more investments are put into the dying plazas, to support a more renovated and beautiful community.

I like how Pine Hills has close by stores. For instance a grocery store is about 10-15 minutes away. It's convenient to the family the reside in the area. The community is overall trying to becoming better and making efforts to promote a safe environment. The school I attend seeks the best in their students and provide many ways to help students succeed. This may include but not limited to obtaining scholarships and community service. This area is trying to overcome their obstacles and label of a "bad neighborhood". Therefore, I can't deny there is violence and negativity in this area but nonetheless the authority and officials are very eager and determined to keep this area secure. There is no doubt that they try their best to aid in any way they can.
The Pine Hills area is not the safest place to be at all times. There is constant police activity for all the wrong reasons. There are barely any healthy living styles to go around. But, it is booming with neighborhood owned businesses.
